Presented by Miss Northern Lakes - Molly West

Ally's platform is called More Than Pink: Be Bold, Be Beautiful and it focuses on empowering girls in grades 4-8. Four summers ago she co-created the More Than Pink program in her hometown Waseca, MN. It is an 8-10 week long program that cumulates in a 5K at the end of the summer. They meet twice a week all summer long for two hours. The first hour is focused on making being active fun for the girls. They do yoga, swimming, gymnastics, volleyball and just anything that gets them excited to exercise. The other hour is spent in the classroom working on more inner beauty topics such as healthy eating, friendships, and healthy relationship. They bring in strong women from the community to present on each of the topics and to showcase all that women can do. She chose her platform because it is a topic she is passionate about and it is something has had a major impact on her life. She hope to inspire young girls to truly embrace who they are and to help them recognize their full potential.

Her favorite post-anything snack is guacamole with corn chips. It provides some good fats and is just so delicious! During pageants she love to eat apples with peanut butter too!

For her talent She will be singing a musical theater piece form the Sound of Music. She have been singing for as long as She can remember and She has been taking lessons since 12 years old or so. The Sound of Music holds a special place in her heart because it was the musical her senior year in high school. She had the opportunity to play Maria when they produced that show and She has so many incredible memories from her time in high school theater.

This is her second year returning to the Miss Minnesota pageant. Last year She was looking to learn all about the Miss Minnesota program, but this year Is looking forward to really getting to know our class and our community appearances. She made some incredible friends in the Miss Minnesota class last year and can’t wait to get to know all of our class this year. Additionally, some of her favorite memories from last year were the public appearances. She loved visiting Gillette’s Children’s hospital and the VA and can’t wait to return this year!

One crazy thing as a roommate. She tends to be a fairly laid back person but definitely thinks that we should have some random dance party nights in our hotel room. By the end of the week things get pretty stressful so it might be nice to just dance and have a little fun! And I totally agree with her!

I'm so excited to have Ally as my roommate and can't wait to get to know her and the other contestants better in June. (:
