5 more days... I can't believe it! I knew the 6 weeks from MMOT to Miss America's Outstanding Teen were going to go fast, but it's still hard to believe it's here.

This weekend has been filled with fun as I get ready to leave on Friday. Yesterday, I went to the Miss Heart of the Lakes / Miss Perham pageant where I got the chance to sing the national anthem, perform my talent, talk about my platform and journey to nationals, and help with crowning. I was even able to sell some of my CDs to raise money for my platform which is always so rewarding. It was such a fun night and I loved getting to see some of my friends from MMOT week!

Now today is my send off party. I'm so excited to show my friends and family what I have been working on for the last month and a half! Not only will I get to show what I will be doing at the national pageant, but I will get to talk about my platform and the work I have been doing and will continue doing throughout my year of service. I'm so blessed to have the opportunity to talk with my friends and family about something that is so special to me and that I am truly passionate about. In the short time that I have been a state titleholder, I have already been humbled and honored by the overwhelming support that I have received from everyone in my life and today will be a continuation of that encouragement.

So here's to another great day and a quick and crazy 5 days until I am on a plane and headed to Orlando!! 😎

Thursday, June 16

Night two of the preliminary competition at the Eden Prairie Performing Arts Center kicked off with hosts Brad Carlson & Siri Freeh-Thaden Miss MN 2012.

Miss Minnesota 2015 Rachel Latuff helped in livening the crowd by challenging the judges to a ribbon dance off. Two judges participated; the crowd went wild over the leaps, twirls and splits performed by one judge. Wanting to concede, the other judge took the stage and wowed the crowd with her dynamic ribbon movements painting the stage and sky with ease!

Lifestyle and Fitness in a Swimsuit for contestants 1-14. The ladies were graceful and truly demonstrated why Miss America focuses on overall wellbeing by carrying on the swimsuit competition tradition!

Talent!!! This was a jam packed night! Piano, Celtic vocals, tap dance, contemporary dance, electric violin... You name it we saw it!

Following intermission the crowd enjoyed a performance by the Northern Lights princesses. For Rachel's pageant career she has had the same NLP. Together Amaya and Rachel performed a special dance incorporating ribbon and matching outfits to a montage of Taylor Swift songs!

Evening gown tonight was wonderful! Dresses in reds, blues, a vibrant yellow, brilliant plum, and more!!! The silhouettes were everything from mermaid to ball gown and A-line.

Overall tonight's show was amazing!
