Mikaela Mohr, Winona native, was crowned on June 18th, 2022. After competing for the crown closest to her heart, she is ecstatic to be on her journey to Miss Minnesota 2023. As a Winona native, Mikaela has always dreamed of wearing this crown and giving back to the community that supported her along the way to making her dream come true.
During high school she was accepted into the Post-Secondary-Education-Program (PSEO), and ultimately was able to graduate from Winona Senior High School with her Associates Degree completed. On December 9th, 2022, Mikaela will receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales, & Entrepreneurship at Winona State University. As she prepares to compete for the job of a lifetime in the summer of 2023, she will continue to follow her educational ambitions in obtaining her PhD in Marketing & Sales. Mikaela strives to be a “Triple A” (Advocate, Ally, and Activist) for Cancer Advocacy through her Social Impact Initiative, More Than A Diagnosis. As the daughter of a two-time cancer survivor, she can attest to the familial strength it takes to overcome such a complex and rigorous disease. Enduring this change in her early teenage years, Mikaela is bringing to light the guidance and resources family and friends of cancer patients need to adapt to this shift in their life, to best support their loved ones during their cancer journey. With over an average of 1.9 million individuals diagnosed with cancer throughout the United States on a yearly basis, there is a passion and personal connection lighting the fire in her heart to drive collective awareness and strong support for the 26,000+ individuals battling cancer throughout the state of Minnesota. She has solidified several partnerships including Winona Health, the American Cancer Society of Minnesota, Hope Lodge Rochester, and has set out to create several more partnerships to best spread her message throughout the state. When Mikaela isn’t wearing her crown, you can find her playing one of several instruments she has mastered, spending time with her dogs, serving on the Board of Directors for the Advocacy Center of Winona, competing in Collegiate National Sales Competitions, or working on home projects. The Miss America Organization has truly changed Mikaela’s life through scholastic incentives, the opportunity to showcase her passion and talent, but most importantly the outlet to feel comfortable in her own skin. Mikaela is excited to bring her bold and bright confidence to the Miss Minnesota stage in June, 2023. |
