About Treasure Island Resort & Casino
The Prairie Island Indian Community owns and operates Treasure Island Resort & Casino, Mount Frontenac Golf Course and Dakota Station. Treasure Island Resort & Casino is the only casino in southern Minnesota located on the Mississippi River. The property features more than 1,800 slot, video poker and video keno machines, 44 table games, a poker room and a 500-seat high stakes bingo hall. Treasure Island’s 788-room hotel is the second largest hotel in Minnesota and the property features over 50,000 square feet of meeting and event space. To become a local or state participant for the Competition Cycle 2026, competing as a State Titleholder at nationals in January 2026, you must meet the age criteria as shown below.
UPDATE regarding MISS eligibility:
- Miss America 18-28 – must be 18 by state competition, and no older than 27 at state competition.
- Contestants who are 18 may choose to compete as a teen or a miss contestant. But once you choose either teen or miss, you can't switch back to one or the other.
UPDATE regarding TEEN eligibility:
- Miss America’s Teen 14-18 – must be 14 by state competition and no older than 18 at state competition.
- Contestants who are 18 may choose to compete as a teen or a miss contestant. But once you choose either teen or miss, you can't switch back to one or the other.
For All Ages you must ALSO meet criteria as shown below:
- Be a United States citizen
- Be a female
- Single
- No legal dependents
- Meet residency requirements for competing in your city or state

- Local competitions are held throughout the State of Minnesota between July and February. Interested contestants are strongly encouraged to compete in a local competition because of the many benefits. Contestants who win a local competition immediately qualify to advance to the state competition, while gaining scholarships, leadership experience, and the support of an official Miss Minnesota Local Organization and Director. Local organizations may provide access to community bookings and appearances, sponsorships, wardrobe assistance, and preparation for the state competition. At the end of each Local Competition Year, we host a "Sweeps Pageant" for contestants to compete in the Greater Minnesota pageants. We will award titles depending on the contestant number to sign up. Fair, Festival or Community Pageant
- Contestants who have won a judged event, a college/university title, or a community fair/festival title may also qualify to compete at the state competition. Contact us Pam Poston to learn more and determine if your event qualifies you to compete in our state competitions.
At-Large Opportunity - accepting titles until March 1st
- At Large contestants have the opportunity to be chosen starting NOW. While winning a local competition comes with the advantage of having a local community support, we want every area of Minnesota to be represented at the state competition. Note: If you live in an area where local competitions are held, we ask that you compete there first. There is a cost to compete At Large.
