Kamaria Braye, Miss Great Lakes, is a 23 year old from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is a first year titleholder! Her platform is Operation R.E.A.D, which stands for Read, enjoy, and discover. Her platform is to help improve academic success of children, and to teach them that reading is fun! Why did she pick this? Because she’s a reading tutor for lower income families, so it’s a subject that’s certainly applicable in her life.
She picked this, because she knows that her students fall low in grade level reading, and because of this, it results in them not liking reading. She was inspired to help them, and make a change in their lives.
Some fun facts about Kamaria? She played tennis in high school and college, she was Queen for Miss Lincoln University, and she studied Journalism!
What can I expect from rooming with you? Lots of girl bonding, talking a lot, being really excited, but nervous, and a ton of positive vibes!
Favorite snacks/drink- Oceanspray Cranberry Juice
