I’m Reese DeLage and I’m truly honored and humbled to represent my community as Miss Northern Lakes Teen. I am a student at Fertile-Beltrami High School in Fertile, Minnesota. I participate in volleyball, dance, basketball, and softball. These activities help me grow both as an athlete and a teammate.
My dream is to one day become a neonatologist, as I’ve always had a passion for helping others, especially children. I was born prematurely, weighing just 2 pounds, 8 ounces, and spent the first three months of my life at the NICU. Even though I was too young to remember that time, hearing my story and knowing how much care I received has inspired me to want to provide that same compassion to others someday. My community service initiative, “Get Behind the Smile,” is something that means a lot to me. I’ve seen how anxiety, depression, and other mental health struggles affect teens today, including people I care deeply about. Many hide their pain behind a smile, and I want to help change that by encouraging open conversations and spreading awareness. To me, being Miss Northern Lakes Teen isn’t just about wearing a crown—it’s about being a voice for others, showing kindness, and using this platform to educate, inspire, and make a difference in my community. |
