I’m Brynn Olson, a senior at Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN. As a proud member of NHS, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to our school community. Whether it’s volunteering, organizing events, or supporting fellow students, I’m committed to making a positive impact. I am one of the co-captains of the TRF Just For Kix dance team. Being a dance captain allows me to express myself, lead by example, and foster teamwork among my peers. I have been a part of the Miss Minnesota Organization as a princess for three years and a teen title holder for four. This platform has empowered me to grow, advocate for causes I believe in, and connect with incredible individuals.
My Social Impact Initiative is BIO Girls: Beautiful Inside and Out. I am so excited to partner with and be a Junior Mentor for BIO Girls-Thief River Falls, a remarkable non-profit organization. BIO Girls offers a 12-week program designed to address crucial topics that young girls may face now or in the future. TOPICS COVERED: Emotions: Understanding and managing feelings. Coping Mechanisms: Equipping girls with healthy ways to navigate challenges. Body Image: Fostering self-love and acceptance. Friendships: Nurturing healthy relationships. Physical Wellness: We also train each week for a 5k. This not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also instills a sense of accomplishment when the girls complete the 5k they’ve been working toward. Being a Role Model: As a BIO Girls mentor, I cherish the opportunity to interact with girls of all ages. I strive to be a safe person they can confide in—a big sister who encourages, listens, and uplifts. Exercising Together: While I lead an active lifestyle, running isn’t my forte. However, with BIO Girls, I’ve discovered a shared passion for pushing boundaries. Together, we work harder, celebrate achievements, and remind each other that we’re in this journey together! The lessons and discussions at BIO Girls are invaluable. I wish I’d had access to such a program when I was younger. |
