I’m Nora Young, and I am proud to serve my community as Miss Morris Area’s Teen 2026. Currently, I am 17 years old and I live in Morris, MN with my family of six. I have a brother that is 12 months older than me, one that is 18 months younger, and then a little sister who is 12 years younger.
My home school is Morris Area High School, and I am enrolled as a PSEO student at Alexandria Technical and Community College. My future plan is to attend college and graduate school, with a goal to pursue a career in the medical field. I am currently working at the Morris Public Library as a seasonal library assistant. It has been a wonderful summer where I have gotten to combine my love of reading and support residents and children's love of reading as well. In the winter, I spend six of seven days on the snow either training, racing, or coaching. This year will be my eighth season as an alpine ski racer. I compete with the Lakes Area Alpine Ski Team as a sanctioned high school sport. I have the honor of being voted team captain and get to lead a wonderful group of young women. When I am not training for high school, I train with a club level group on alternate nights. This has all led to me developing skills that I can use to coach the next generation of racers through the Andes Developmental Alpine Ski Team. The group are boys and girls ages 9 and under. My community service initiative is “Beyond the Game: Empowering Women Through Sports”. I have always had a passion for sports, and I am looking forward to spreading this throughout my time as Miss Morris Area’s Teen. Sports have helped me to learn skills relevant to a healthy lifestyle as well as many important leadership skills that will help me throughout my career. I hope to spread my message through being a coach for younger girls as well as the team captain for my high school ski team. I know that sports can be expensive and I don't want that to be a barrier. I plan to try and fundraise and collect donations of equipment for kids in need. I look forward to sharing my message further through local sports and school groups. |
