Morgyn Haugen is a Registered Nurse at Sanford Health and graduated from Concordia College-Moorhead. She was born in Montana but has called Mankato, Minnesota home ever since she moved there at eight years old. She is an older sister to her two sisters who live in Mankato with her mom and her three step-siblings who live in Colorado with her dad and step-mom. Family is an integral part of Morgyn's life and their love and support has gotten her to where she is today!
Throughout college, Morgyn was heavily involved with Habitat for Humanity and was presented with many opportunities to travel to other states and work with their Habitat affiliates. She worked in Laredo, TX, Tacoma, WA, and Athens, GA during spring breaks with the Concordia collegiate chapter. The chance to see the impact the organization has on communities all over the country was life-changing for Morgyn. She took leadership positions with the HFH board to learn more about the inner workings of coordinating trips and working with affiliates. Post-graduation, she sought out other opportunities to remain involved. She is now a member of the public relations and family selection committees for the Fergus Falls affiliate. Morgyn also works to spread the mission of Habitat for Humanity as Miss Perham. She educates others about their goal to provide affordable and reliable housing for all. In her free time, Morgyn enjoys reading, spending time with friends, playing board games, and practicing color guard. She began learning the special art of color guard in 2016 and fell in love with the performance immediately. It has been a passion of hers and a sport she continues to practice! Throughout her involvement, she has been in four different marching band organizations across Minnesota. She is excited to share this passion during the talent portion of competition in June. Morgyn is blessed to be part of the Miss Minnesota Organization! She began competing in 2017 and was hooked from her very first local competition. She has been provided with many scholarships that helped support her journey to becoming a registered nurse. More than that, she gained life long friendships with the other women within not only Minnesota, but also women across the country in the Miss America Opportunity. Morgyn has been grateful to the bonus family she has gained since joining the organization. |
