Laney Vrieze, Miss Northern Lakes, is a Freshman at Minnesota State University Moorhead. She is pursuing a degree in Social Work. Laney has always had a passion for helping people of all ages and can't wait to touch lives in that role. She is a show water skier for the Park Rapids Water Ski Team. She performs in their shows, doing things like climbing in pyramids and skiing in the ballet line.

About Laney's Talent!
While growing up, Laney loved all things art. Most of her hobbies have to do with crafts like painting, drawing, bracelet making, crocheting, and more. Her love for painting inspired her talent– speed painting!

Laney’s Community Service Initiative is titled Kinship: The Beauty of Mentoring. Kinship, a non-profit in her hometown, pairs an adult mentor with a child mentee to ensure they have a healthy, trusting relationship in their lives. Laney believes mentoring is the most important thing we can do for a young child. She chose her community service initiative because she’s had the pleasure of experiencing the positives first hand. Her family has a Kinship kiddo of their own, a relationship she’s cherished for the last 6 years. Laney plans to continue to partner with Kinship, and also partner with more mentorship programs around Minnesota as Miss Northern Lakes!
