Hello everyone! I’m Tenley Updike and am so excited to be your Miss Mankato's Teen. I am honored to serve this community with pride, positivity, and purpose. I am from Northfield, MN and someday hope to earn a degree in elementary education and coach dance, two of my favorite ways to inspire and encourage others.
My Community Service Initiative, Tenley’s Terrific Toolbox: Cultivating a Community of Kindness, teaches students that kindness is a choice we can make every single day. Through my school visits and Tenley’s Tuesday Tips on social media, I share simple, fun ways to spread kindness and help create positive, supportive school communities. Dance has been part of my life since I was three years old. As a varsity member of my high school Dance Team and studio competition dancer, I’ve learned how powerful it is to have teammates and coaches who lift you up. Their support inspires me to help others feel included, confident, and encouraged, just like I have. The Miss America Opportunity has inspired me to make an impact, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me. As Miss Mankato’s Teen, I can’t wait to continue spreading kindness, confidence, and community everywhere I go. |
