Candidate Requirements for Entering a Local Competition

Effective January 1, 2021, all candidates participating in a local MISS or TEEN competition, will be required to create a profile with *spotfund. The new *spotfund accounts will replace the 'Miss America 4 Kids' profiles, which previously raised funds for Children's Miracle Network.

The new *spotfund program, directly benefits the Miss America Foundation and the Miss America's Outstanding Teen program, by bringing in scholarship dollars to be awarded at every level.

Below you will find all the information for creating your personal profile.
FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENTS for MISS
All Candidates competition in Local Competitions need to raise a minimum of $100 per local (up to four local competitions; $400) and an additional $250 in fundraising to be eligible to compete in the State Competition.

FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENTS for TEEN
TEEN Candidates must also register and create a profile on *spotfund, however fundraising remains optional. Teen titleholders both local and state, wil not be required to fundraise for any amount to be eligible to compete.

Step by Step Instructions

To access *spotfund to create your personal profile, click the appropriate button below for MISS or TEEN.
That will start the step by step process.

Step 3 - Create Header
  1. Upload a photo: Upload a photo of you NOT wearing a crown or sash
  2. Add a YouTube or Vimeo video: 15-30 second welcome video, why you are competing in the Miss America or MAOTeen Program. (Note - videos increase donation responses by 7 times!)
  3. Upload the video to your own YouTube or Vimeo account and paste the link where noted. Or, use the Miss America default image.

Step 4 - CREATE - Tell Us Your Story
A default story will pre-populate your profile. HOWEVER, it is strongly recommended that you customize a story specific to you and why you're competing in the Miss America or Miss America's Outstanding Teen program. This will help with donation responses. While you may mention your Social Impact Initiative, it is recommended not to make your story about your social impact as people may be confused and think they are donating to your Initiative rather than the scholarship fund.

Your overriding message should be why you participate and support this iconic organization.

Step 5 - Share Options
Once your profile is created, it can be easily shared with your social media channels, in addition to emailing potential donors. You can share via Facebook, send emails, share in a Text, on Twitter, or share the URL.
