Hi! I’m Lexie Kiefer, a senior at Mankato West High School and proud to represent my community as Miss South Central’s Teen. I’m passionate about using my voice, creativity, and leadership to make a positive impact in the lives of others. I believe that confidence grows when people feel seen, heard, and valued, and I strive to bring that mindset into everything I do.
My community initiative, Every Story Matters: Beyond the Filter, focuses on encouraging people to look past the unrealistic expectations often created by social media and instead recognize the value of authentic stories and real experiences. In today’s image-driven world, it can be easy to compare ourselves to what we see online. Through conversations, community involvement, and my nonprofit photography work, I hope to help people feel confident in who they are and remind them that their story has meaning and purpose. I have always loved connecting with people and finding ways to celebrate their individuality. One of the ways I do this is through photography, where I work to capture genuine moments and help individuals feel confident in front of the lens. Seeing someone light up when they feel truly seen is one of the most rewarding parts of the work I do. Outside of community involvement, I love spending time with the people who mean the most to me. Traveling and exploring new places is one of my favorite things to do, and I’m always excited for the next adventure. I also enjoy going to concerts, making memories with friends, and spending quality time with my family. I also LOVE me a good iced chai tea latte from Starbucks and have a huge amount of love for all animals especially giraffes! As Miss South Central’s Teen, my goal throughout this year is to continue encouraging authenticity, uplifting others, and creating spaces where people feel comfortable sharing who they truly are. By looking beyond the filter and embracing real moments, we can help build stronger, more confident communities where every story truly matters. |
