Shelly grew up in the Brainerd area where she still lives today with her husband Dave Johnson. Shelly brings with her nearly 10 years of experience with the Miss America organization through working with her daughters Kristina and Lauren. Kristina competed at the local level and Lauren competed both at the local and state level – where she made Top 5 every year and 1st Runner up twice. Both daughters credit many of their interview skills to the program. Shelly is currently the Financial Secretary of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brainerd. In her spare time, Shelly enjoys gardening, biking, traveling and spending time with her family. Shelly is proud grandmother of one!
