Pageant Date: July 17, 2018
Miss Thief River Falls 2018 Katrina Bugge was born and raised in Thief River Falls. Representing her hometown has been an honor and privilege.
Katrina will be graduating from Northland Community and Technical College this fall with an AAS degree in Liberal Arts. She has been awarded scholarships for her academics and community involvement. She plans to continue her education at Bemidji State University to obtain a degree in Elementary Education. Katrina’s aspiration is to become a Special Education teacher and a dance coach.
Katrina has been a part of the Just For Kix dance program for several years. Katrina has experience in Core Kick, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip-Hop. She has been an assistant coach and a head instructor in the Thief River Falls program. This year Katrina became the director and head coach of the Just For Kix dance program in Bagley, MN. This opportunity has been the highlight of her dance career.
Katrina’s platform is “Inspire a Golden Journey: Childhood Cancer”. Katrina is a 15-year childhood cancer survivor. Her journey with cancer has inspired her to be the role model of hope for the children and families faced with childhood cancer. She chose “Golden Journey” because gold is a precious metal, and reflects the most precious thing in our world – the children. Katrina uses her experience and personal story to help the children fight while undergoing challenging and often scary treatments. Katrina was recently chosen as a Gold Ribbon Hero by the American Childhood Cancer Organization for helping and supporting cancer’s youngest and strongest heroes.
