I’m Emily Waterworth, an 18 year old, from the small town of Newfolden, Minnesota, a graduate from Marshall County Central High School, and Northland Community and Technical College. This fall, I will be attending the University of Minnesota Crookston, where I plan to major in marketing and communications as I continue working towards becoming a travel blogger!
When I’m not studying or preparing for appearances, I work at my family’s business, PupsWorthFamily, where I spend my days surrounded by puppies. One of the biggest passions I bring to this role is my Community Service Initiative focused on online safety and protecting children in today’s digital world. As a teenager, I’ve seen how unsafe online spaces and lack of education can impact people I care deeply about, motivating me to be a voice for awareness, prevention, and protection. Through my partnership with the worldwide organization Saprea, I became a certified educator and gained access to valuable resources that support youth and families. I have educated over 1,000 children in my community on safe online practices, created my own digital safety curriculum, and worked alongside schools and counselors to encourage open conversations about online behavior. I have also partnered with the Red River Children’s Advocacy Center to further support youth and families through education and community outreach Being Miss North Star’s Teen isn’t just about walking across a stage or wearing a crown. It’s about being a role model, showing up for your community, and inspiring the next generation of girls to lead with confidence. I’m proud to be a small-town girl with a big heart, and I’m even more proud of the impact I get to make along the way. |
