Mark Schreier is a 40-year Miss America volunteer. He started a local Miss Wisconsin prelim at the age of 19 and later led another Wisconsin local before moving to Virginia and starting a local pageant there. 5 years later, he was asked to join the Miss Virginia Board as Director of Marketing and Production. He has judged about 35 local and state competitions in 6 states and produced about 40 local and state prelims (3 state winners became Miss Americas).
During his 15-year tenure with Miss Virginia, he cultivated volunteers and spearheaded fundraising strategies that generated about $600,000 in cash and in-kind sponsorships, including the cost of televising the pageant on 10 TV stations in 8 states. He received Volunteer of the Year awards from Miss Virginia and a local Rotary Club.
Mark is employed as the New Business Development Director with the Robertson Marketing Group in Salem, Virginia, an all-inclusive promotional products, ecommerce and H.R. solutions provider serving global Fortune 500 firms, including Google and Viacom.
Prior to his career in marketing sales, Mark worked in television broadcasting at CBS and FOX affiliates -- first as a journalist, then as a marketing/promotion manager.
He’s a Summa Cum Laude Mass Communications & English graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. His 27-year-old son, Matthew, grew up with the Miss Virginia Organization, eventually producing music, graphics and videos for the production. He’s employed as a sales leader with Chicago’s Burberry flagship store on Michigan Avenue.
Mark is excited and honored to join the Miss Minnesota family and looks forward to helping create the Miss America experience for the Miss Minnesota class of 2023.
