Debbie Grill — Minnesota Northern Lights Program DirectorDebbie Grill is honored to serve as the newly appointed Minnesota Northern Lights Program Director for the Miss Minnesota Organization. A passionate advocate for mentorship, leadership development, and community service, Debbie is dedicated to helping the next generation of young girls discover their confidence, kindness, and potential through the Northern Lights Program.
With a background in youth engagement and volunteer leadership, Debbie brings a heart for service and a strong commitment to the values of the Miss America Opportunity—scholarship, style, service, and success. She is excited to continue building meaningful connections between Miss Minnesota and Miss Minnesota’s Teen delegates and their Little Sisters, fostering experiences that inspire confidence, compassion, and lifelong friendships.
As Program Director, Debbie’s vision is to expand opportunities for participants across Minnesota, celebrating each girl’s unique spark and encouraging them to shine brightly in their communities. She brings more than 18 years of experience in K–12 education, where she has served as Director of Advancement and Human Resources. Debbie also spent several years as a Student Government Leader, planning social events and service projects for high school students, and previously volunteered as a Sunday school teacher when her children were young—experiences that reflect her lifelong dedication to mentorship, education, and community growth. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and leadership reflect the true spirit of the Northern Lights program — guiding young hearts toward possibility and purpose.
When she’s not cheering on the Miss Minnesota and Miss Minnesota’s Teen delegates or organizing program events, Debbie enjoys travelling and spending time with her husband, Bob, their adult children Andrew and his wife Sadie, Jacob, Ryan, and their daughter, Bella Grill—who many may recognize as Miss Minnesota’s Teen 2020 and 2021.
