Debbie Grill
Field Director
Debbie Grill is honored to serve as the newly appointed State Field Director for the Miss Minnesota Organization. She steps into this role after serving seven months as the Northern Lights Little Sister Program Director, where she supported young participants and their families while helping create meaningful connections with Miss Minnesota and Miss Minnesota’s Teen delegates.
Debbie brings more than 18 years of leadership experience in private education, including many years serving as Director of Human Resources and Advancement. In these roles, she has helped recruit, develop, encourage, and retain talented employees while building strong relationships with families, donors, volunteers, board members, and community partners. Her extensive background in human resources, fundraising, communication, event planning, and organizational leadership has given her a strong ability to recognize the strengths in others and help them achieve success.
Known for being friendly, approachable, and encouraging, Debbie strives to make every delegate, titleholder, local director, volunteer, and family feel welcomed, valued, and supported. She believes effective leadership begins with listening, building trust, and helping others develop the confidence and tools they need to reach their goals.
As State Field Director, Debbie is committed to supporting local organizations and titleholders ,under the guidelines set forth by the Miss America Opportunity, throughout Minnesota while promoting the values represented by the points of the crown: style, sisterhood, scholarship, service, and success. She is passionate about creating a positive culture in which participants can grow as leaders, serve their communities, pursue educational opportunities, build lasting friendships, and celebrate their individual talents and accomplishments.
Debbie’s commitment to mentorship and service extends throughout her professional and volunteer experiences. She previously served as a Student Government Leader, coordinating social activities and community service projects for high school students, and volunteered as a Sunday school teacher when her children were young. These experiences reflect her lifelong dedication to education, youth development, relationship-building, and helping others discover their potential.
Debbie looks forward to partnering with local directors, delegates, titleholders, families, volunteers, and the Miss Minnesota leadership team to strengthen programs across the state. Her goal is to ensure that everyone involved feels supported and empowered to represent the Miss Minnesota Organization, through the Miss America Opportunity, with confidence, kindness, professionalism, and purpose.
Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Debbie enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, Bob; their adult children, Andrew and his wife Sadie, Jacob, Ryan; and their daughter, Bella Grill, who many may recognize as Miss Minnesota’s Teen 2020 and 2021.
