Platform: Fired Up For Fitness: Encouraging Brain and Body Wellnes
Breanna's platform is Fired Up for Fitness: Encouraging Brain and Body Wellness. Her mission is to get people up and active, even if it is just for short periods of time. She encourages people not just to exercise their body, but also their mind. Reading a newspaper or novel, doing a crossword or number puzzle, or playing games will stimulate the brain, better your problem solving skills, and improve mental health. She created a free summer program called Family Fit Night to encourage everyone to come do fun exercises and interact with other people, working on both mental and physical fitness.
An honor student, Breanna enjoys learning about new topics, especially anything in math and English. She is involved in her school’s math and speech teams to spend more time in these areas. She challenges herself by taking Post Secondary Enrollment Options and Advanced Placement classes. She has enjoyed being in engineering, music, business, and service classes throughout her high school years.
Breanna loves being active and spending time outside. She has been playing soccer since she was five and has been on the varsity soccer team for the last two years. In the winter, Breanna stays active by being on the varsity basketball cheerleading squad. A dancer for 12 years, her tap dance at the Miss Chain of Lakes pageant, Something New, was a sassy routine that she helped choreograph. The past three summers she has competed in "Battle of the Books" because she loves to read. She has been involved in her church youth group and likes spending time playing with and helping kids. She also loves cats, baking, and gardening, which she did for the first time last summer.
Her career goal is to teach and coach children, so she aspires to obtain bachelor's and master's degrees in elementary education.
