Congratulations and Welcome to the 2023 Class of Miss Minnesota's Teen! We are thrilled to have you with us! We hope this experience will be transformative for you.
So that you can relax and compete to the best of your ability, we have paperwork to be completed as required by Miss America. Please go through each item, download documents, read, and respond as requested. |
This will take time!
Do not think you can complete this all in one night. It is a process. You will need the assistance of your Local Director, your parents, guardians, or our State Teen Director.

Select Your Competition Order Placement!
By being one of our top 2 ad sellers, you will have the opportunity to select your competition placement! Full page ads are only $150 each. Often times families put together GOOD LUCK ads by inviting family and friends to donate towards good luck pages. One candidate and her family raised enough by this method to purchase 3 full page ads! Good luck!
Not only will our top two ad sellers win the chance to select their placement, but they will also receive a custom embroidered Miss Minnesota's Teen cozy blanket!

Check out our PINTEREST BOARD for Wardrobe Examples!
Private Interview
Candidate Choice: Professional dress, pant suit, slacks and blouse, etc. No jeans, spaghetti straps, or casual clothing. No sparkles, cocktail dresses, hi-cut slits or evening gowns. Show your teen style through your clothes but keep it simple so the judges will look at you and not the dress. You want to wear the dress, not let the dress wear you!
Opening Segment
Official sash, Black cocktail dress (not shorter than 4” above the knee) or black pantsuit. No trains or capes or things that drag behind you due to space on stage. Outfit can have sparkles! Jewelry, shoes and accent pieces can be any color you wish. Please wear "shorts/biker shorts" under dress as the stage is raised. Bring pair along if you aren't sure and we will check at rehearsal!
Lifestyle & Wellness
TOP: Bright colored solid Sports Top; shirt and sleeve length of your choice. Should be something you would exercise in; should not look like a swim suit.
BOTTOM: Black sport Capri pant, black legging, skirt (bottom must hit below the knee). Bottoms can have color to match tops or shoes as long as the main color is black.
SHOES: Athletic Tennis Shoes
Ultimately, keep this teen, respectable, and something you would work out in. This statement is shared with the judges.
Talent
Candidate Choice: Select an outfit, gown, or costume that works best with your talent. Make sure it is age appropriate. Accessorize as needed.
On-State Question in Evening Wear – Keep it TEEN!
Candidate choice: all types of gowns, pant suits, and tuxedos are permitted. What would you walk the red carpet in at the Emmy's? Find a formal evening wear outfit that fits and accents your personality, age, and style! Shoes, jewelry, color, and style are also the candidates choice. Be unique, creative, and you!
