Compete at State Competition with an At-Large Title

We are excited to announce we will be accepting At Large candidates for the 2023 Minnesota's Outstanding Teen Competition. If you have previously competed and understand how the competition works; or if you prefer to prepare for the competition independently, competing 'at large' might be for you. 

Information will be available in July.

Steps to Register to Compete At-Large
​
​1)  MISS AMERICA PROGRAM SIGN UP
Every candidate now must first sign up with Miss America for a fee of $35. This gets you into the system and you will receive news and information to keep you up to date with Miss America as you begin your journey!

2)  2022 STATE COMPETITION REGISTRATION
Now that you are signed up and have paid the $35 fee, you REGISTER with Miss America to compete in Minnesota. Here are the steps:
  • Click the button below to be re-directed to a second Miss America Portal. 
  • You will see a fee of $75   -  BUT TEENS DO NOT PAY THIS. We have a DISCOUNT CODE to enter so you will not be charged. 
  • Complete the information on this page, and under "Name of Local Competition" enter AT LARGE then 'Add to Cart.'
  • You will see $75 in the cart, but continue to check out and "View Order Summary."
  • Enter Discount Code: TEENLOCAL
  • The fee is now waived.
  • Complete the information and submit.

​3) PAY THE 'AT LARGE' ENTRY FEE* (payment portal below) TO COMPETE AT THE STATE COMPETITION
Once you have paid your entry fee, you can download all of the paperwork and get started!

This year, we are awarding a prize package valued at $5000 to our new 2022 Miss Minnesota's Outstanding Teen; plus, the experience of a lifetime competing for the title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen at the National Competition in Orlando, Florida this July. 

Additional scholarships will be awarded to the Top 3, and all candidates will be eligible to win and apply for additional scholarship awards. 

When You Compete At Large:
  • You become a member of the 2022 Miss Minnesota's Outstanding Teen Class
  • You will be given an official title and will receive your official sash  
  • You make your own decisions regarding your Social Impact Initiative, your paperwork, wardrobe, talent, etc.
  • You will compete for the state title, and if you win, you will go on to compete for Miss America's Outstanding Teen
  • You are eligible to apply for and win additional Scholarships at the State Level
  • You pay an ENTRY FEE of $650
  • You are eligible to receive a FREE Dale Carnegie Leadership Training Course if you are one of the TOP THREE finalists. (Value is $1995) Not only do Dale Carnegie Leadership training courses provide vital presentation and leadership skills, but these classes are an excellent addition to your college application.
  • You may purchase the official crown for an additional fee, or you may use a crown you have from winning a previous official Miss MMNOT local competition​
