Samantha is a Sophomore at Minnetonka High School where she is an A honor roll student and a varsity dancer on both the Performance and Competition team. In her upcoming Junior year she will serve as a dance captain for her team.
She has danced since she was three years old and continues to study six disciplines of dance at her studio where she also teaches a middle school jazz class and competes in a solo.
Samantha has always loved to perform. She has sung in choirs since kindergarten and now sings in Minnetonka High School's Varsity choir. She especially enjoys her solos which she continues to audition for. In theater, she was delighted to play Cinderella, Jasmine in Aladdin and Gabriella in High School Musical. In figure skating, she enjoyed competing individually and as a team.
She likes to study languages and travel. She is in her third year in Chinese and is still working on her Swiss-German and German which she tries to use when visiting her family in Switzerland.
Samantha's platform is "Use Triple A (Awareness, Access and Advocacy) to make it okay - start conversations about mental illness." She was inspired by her own and her mother's severe bouts with depression and anxiety. Samantha wants to remove the stigma that prevents conversations about mental illness which in turn affects people seeking care and getting treatment. She looks forward to using her title to impact as many lives as possible.
