ABOUT BROOKE
Miss Minnesota 2009, Brooke Kelly Kilgarriff, is a twenty-year-old junior at The Boston Conservatory. As a musical theatre major Brooke plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre as well as a Masters in Music Education. At age 16 Brooke was a Hollywood Finalist on American Idol's Season 5, and performed with the Solid Brass at the Valley Fair Live Entertainment Show last summer.
Brooke has used her platform “Music: The Building Blocks of Education” to excite students in the Twin Cities about the joys of music. She has generated enthusiasm by visiting over 45 classrooms, and shared her passion about music with 3000 students. Brooke testified in front of the Minnesota House of Representatives about her experience with music education. She also collected over 1500 signatures for the petition “Equal Access for Music Education” for Music Education Week in Washington D.C.
