Topanga Brown is a 16-year-old junior. She is actively involved in 4-H, student council, national honor Society, science club, basketball, volleyball, band, and choir. She spends most of her free time volunteering and spending time with children.
Topanga's favorite sport is basketball and has been playing since she was in fourth grade. She just recently started playing volleyball and she loves it.
Topanga is fifth out of her class in academics and recently got awards for being an honor student for the past four years. When she was in first grade Topanga was selected as an academic All-Star, and received a free trip to the mall of America to be recognized for her outstanding academic achievements.
Topanga is also very active in her sisters organization called "Saphires Courage Campaign", where she goes to schools and speaks about her story of being bullied and sings. "Saphires Courage Campaign" has a goal to let every person know that whatever they are going through they are not alone. This organization has sparked Topanga's platform in a tremendous way. She has also been fortunate enough to be able to sing back up and sell merchandise at her sisters events.
Topanga has been asked to perform the national anthem at many volleyball and basketball games throughout her high school career. Last year she was chosen to dance at an Axemen pro-indoor football game. She has also been a dancer for her high school's homecoming halftime show.
Topanga has enjoyed dance as long as she can remember. She started dancing when she's she was three and began competitive dancing when she was eight years old, and was the youngest one on her team.
Topanga is the head percussionist for her senior high band, and also is a soloist for her senior high choir. She has won many double stars and superior ratings for her solos and ensembles.
She has loved children since a very young age and volunteers at Bible camps and basketball camps in hopes of helping other children grow as individuals. Last July Topanga flew alone to Arizona to volunteer at a Bible school.
Travel has also been a large part of Topanga's life. She has been to 20 different states, plus Mexico and Canada multiple times. Along with being a nationwide traveler Topanga has been offered a chance to study abroad for a summer in Australia, but couldn't go.
Topanga aspires to be a children's and divorce attorney when she graduates. She hopes to become a student at Vanderbelt University in Tennessee. After receiving her degree in law Topanga would like to open up her own practice and assist on many Pro-Bono cases to help people in need.
