Talent: Vocal performance - "They Can't Take That Away From Me"
Platform: Diabetes Awareness
Education: High School Graduate of Brainerd High School; Currently a Sophomore at Concordia College
Career Goal: To finish out the nursing program at Concordia College and become a Certified Diabetes Educator educating people about diabetes and helping them to realize that diabetes does not have to control their lives.
Interesting Fact: Emily was diagnosed with Diabetes at the Age of 7 and later was given the opportunity to meet Nicole Johnson (Miss America 1999) a fellow diabetic who inspired her to take a stand against diabetes and in turn began Emily's quest to Miss America.
