Miss Heart of the Lakes 2009 is Lacey Erickson!

Lacey is the 21 year old daughter of Greg and Vickie Erickson. Her hometown is Pelican Rapids. She is a senior at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks where she is majoring in Communications with emphasis in Broadcast Journalism and minoring in Sociology.

She sang "Desperado" by the Eagles for her talent. She has been working with Special Olympics and her platform is entitled "Special Olympics: Discovering the Ability in Athletes and You".

Miss Heart of the Lakes is an open local pageant. Contestants must live, work, or attend school in the state of Minnesota to be eligible.

The 2009 pageant was held in conjunction with Miss Perham on Friday July 17, 2009 at the Perham High School Auditorium.

2009 marked the 6th year of Miss Heart of the Lakes. We have had one Miss Minnesota – Karyn Stordahl–Utecht.
